Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body. It is believed to help promote the body's natural healing process and improve overall well-being. Acupuncture has been used for thousands of years to treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions. During an acupuncture session, a trained practitioner will carefully insert needles into designated points on the body, stimulating these points to restore the flow of energy, known as qi. This process is generally painless and is often accompanied by a sense of relaxation. Many people seek acupuncture treatment for issues such as pain management, stress reduction, digestive problems, and more. Research has shown promising results for the efficacy of acupuncture in treating a variety of conditions, making it a popular alternative therapy choice for those looking to enhance their health and wellness.

Tui Na Remedial Massage

Tui Na is a form of traditional Chinese manipulative therapy often used in conjunction with acupuncture, herbal medicine, and other holistic practices. It involves various hand techniques and massage movements applied to specific areas of the body to stimulate acupressure points, promote circulation, and relieve muscle tension. Tui Na is believed to balance the flow of Qi (vital energy) within the body and facilitate healing. This therapy is commonly used to address musculoskeletal issues, pain management, stress reduction, and overall wellness.

Herbal Medicine

Chinese Herbal Medicine is one of the oldest forms of internal medicine (the treatment of organ related conditions, for example digestive or respiratory problems) in the world with over 2000 years of documented use and development right up to the cutting edge modern research which is carried out today.  It  uses plants and other substances such as resins & minerals (NO ANIMAL PRODUCTS) to heal and bring harmony to the body and mind.

Treatments consist of a prescription of a herbal formula which is tailored to a particular condition. Formulas, which typically consist of several herbs (usually 6-15) act together to restore balance to the body.

One of the main strengths of Chinese Herbal Medicine is the synergy of  these combinations  which have been shown to exert a stronger effect than single herbs taken alone.

Chinese herbs are prescribed in 2 ways in our clinic -  Firstly, raw herb prescriptions which are boiled in water and the resulting tea is drunk. Secondly, pharmaceutical grade concentrated herbal granules which can be made up easily by simply adding hot water, this method is less time consuming and so more convenient for today's busy lifestyles.
