Our Clinical Set-up

Communal Setting:

At Source Point we choose to treat in one big room. The room has a reception area where people wait for full body treatments or receive free drop-in ear acupuncture. There are a number of treatment couches with screens between them to provide privacy. Your practitioner moves from bed to bed treating and checking that everybody has what they need. If at any time you need something your acupuncturist is only a few metres away.

Multi Bed Acupuncture is not a new idea, visit any hospital and most clinics through the world and the multi bed system is what you will experience.

The multi bed style is a system perfectly suited to acupuncture, because acupuncture requires a reasonably short period of time with a clinician followed by a longer period whilst you relax with the needles in allowing them to do their work.

This efficient use of your clinician’s time means that the cost of your treatment can be divided by the number of people receiving treatment, meaning you pay less for the same high quality service you would receive in private practice.

The Advantages of a Communal Setting

  • You are never left alone with the needles in.

  • There is always at least one clinician only a few feet away in case you need something, such as an extra blanket if you feel cold.

  • There is a strong sense of support from the other patients.

  • Group treatment creates an atmosphere that amplifies the healing process.

Individual Consultations:

While we are advocates for communal treatment setting and believe it to be a highly effective and beneficial way of treating – not to mention how economically sensible it is – we also recognise the need for privacy. Due to this, your first session (all modalities) and all reviews take place in our private consulting room. This room is also available if you wish to have a chat about something personal which you don’t want to discuss in the main clinic room.

"The treatments have improved my general health immensely.  My digestive system and pain levels are the best they have ever been."

Clinic Tips

  • What Should You Wear?

We suggest you wear loose comfortable clothing to the clinic. Depending on your treatment we may need access to your legs, arms, shoulders, back, abdomen, hips etc. so the easier it is to move your clothing around the better. It is possible to change in the clinic if you need to bring alternative clothes.

Women, please do wear a bra if you usually do so, and vest tops are especially useful if we need to access your shoulders or neck area.

  • Payment and Cancellations

We understand that things crop up and sometimes you can’t make your appointment. We try to make that as easy as possible with an online booking system and you can also call text or email us.

We have a strict 48 hour cancellation policy, which is in place because we simply cannot afford to operate without it. Unused appointment slots significantly reduce our revenue and our ability to provide our services.

You will be required to pay for your initial appointment in advance. For subsequent visits payment can be made by cash or card on the day of your treatment.

  • Preparation For Your Appointment

When we assess you in clinic, as well as discussing your symptoms and health history, use various techniques including tongue and pulse analysis. We obtain a more accrurate picture if you avoid caffeine before your appointment and do not brush your tongue if t’s your practice to do so.

Please ensure you have had a light meal and have had plenty of fluids.
