Tom Hirons, BSc (Hons) Acupuncture, LicAc, graduated from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM) in Reading, where he submitted a dissertation on the subject of ‘Acupuncture in the treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).’
Tom has been practising tai chi and qi gong for almost 20 years and following the principles of Chinese dietary therapy for almost as long. Before training as an acupuncturist, Tom has been a master craftsman – running the workshop of a traditional leather luggage company in Scotland where he worked for almost 12 years – a storyteller and a wilderness rites of passage guide.
Tom is a firm believer in the benefits of multibed acupuncture practice and the relevance of acupuncture to personal and community health. He is a board member of ACMAC (the Association of Community and Multibed Acupuncture Clinics) and a member of POCA (the People’s Organisation of Community Acupuncture).
